Locorotondo

Locorotondo is an Italian town of 14,253 inhabitants in the province of Bari, in Puglia, inserted in the circuit of The most beautiful villages in Italy and adheres to the association "Orange Flag" of the Italian Touring Club. It is one of the major tourist centers of Itria Valley and is part of the Land of the Trulli. In addition, the town has become famous for Locorotondo DOC.

The city was said to mid-nineteenth century "Luogorotondo" for the characteristic round shape of the settlement.

Locorotondo bordered to the north by Fasano (BR) and Alberobello, west and south by the territory of Martina Franca (TA) and east Cisternino (BR).

It is located in the Valle d'Itria where centuries ago the tradition, flowed the river of the same name, but the name is derived from the valley Itria Madonna dell'Odegitria.

Locorotondo has 146 districts. They have weird names and distinctive as Pozzomasiello, Franceschiello, Macco Macco, Snout red and Uacella.

The main villages of the country are the Itria Valley San Marco, Mince, Mancini, Tagaro, Lamie of Olympia, Crucifix, Figgazzano and Pellegrini.
