Fasano

Fasano is an Italian town of 39,482 inhabitants of Apulia.

Fasano, also known as the'' City of oil'', is located at the center of an imaginary triangle whose vertices the city of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto, about 50 km away from Fasano, the town marks the border between the Salento and the Land of Bari the municipality, together with the nearby Cisternino, he was attached to the new province in 1927; in 1955 he was presented to the House by Congresswoman Mary Chieco Bianchi a bill to bring the city into the territory of Bari.

The name "Fasano" probably comes from "Faso", the ancient name of a large white dove and wild (represented on the civic coat of arms) who drank at the so-called "styles" that is, a swamp or outdoors where the well flowed the courses water from the hills. Above these styles today is located the town park.
